Interior Painting Preparation

Here are some tips for preparing your home for interior painting:

  • Move furniture and belongings out of the room. If you can’t move all of the furniture, try to cover it with drop cloths or plastic sheeting.
  • Remove light fixtures and switch plates. This will prevent them from getting paint on them.
  • Wash the walls and ceiling. This will remove any dirt, grease, or dust that could prevent the paint from adhering properly.
  • Patch any holes or cracks in the walls and ceiling. This will give you a smooth surface to paint on.
  • Sand the walls and ceiling. This will create a good grip for the paint.
  • Cover trim and baseboards with painter’s tape. This will help to protect them from paint splatters.

Exterior Painting Preparation

Here are some tips for preparing your business for exterior painting:

  • Trim any trees or bushes that are close to the house. This will make it easier to paint the exterior walls.
  • Wash the exterior walls. This will remove any dirt, grease, or loose paint.
  • Scrape off any peeling paint. This will give you a smooth surface to paint on.
  • Caulk any gaps or cracks in the siding. This will help to prevent moisture from getting into the walls.
  • Prime the exterior walls. This will help the paint to adhere properly and last longer.

Extra Tips

Here are some extra tips for preparing your home or business for painting:

  • Choose a time of year when the weather is mild. This will help to ensure that the paint dries properly.
